"Walden at on Lake Conroe the setting for the Third Annual Golfers Against Cancer presented by Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club, and Golfers Against Cancer.  A total of  240 players came out to support the great cause in the fight against cancer on Monday, August 28, 2006.  The event generated $45,000 for cancer research!  Players had a wonderful day of fun a great game of golf.  Dan McIntyre thanked the many wonderful sponsors, including the Title Sponsor - Water Oak on Lake Conroe and the Platinium Sponsor - Seidl's Bindery, Inc.   Dan also recognized the cancer survivors and volunteers that came out to help with the event.  A special tribute was exhibited at each of the holes on the 18-hole course, featuring pictures of cancer survivors from the community and a special thanks to the sponsors and players, "Because of you, I survived."  Special thanks went to Outback Steakhouse for providing the lunch, DeMontrond Auto Country, Mike Cahplain Chiropractic, Lynch Signs, and Print Mailers, Inc. for their contributions to the tournament."
