Golfers Against Cancer Golf Tournament
at Walden on Lake Conroe, August 9, 2010

Walden at Lake Conroe is the setting for the Fourth Annual Golfers Against Cancer presented by Walden on Lake Conroe Golf Club and “Golfers Against Cancer”.  This event is scheduled for Monday, August 9, 2010 with a shotgun start at both 8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  Individual golfers can sign up to play for $150. Team sponsorships are $600.  Play includes lunch catered by Outback Steakhouse and an awards ceremony with hors d'oeuvres scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Door prizes will be awarded after play is completed.  Golfers will not only have a great time playing a great game, but they can take pride in the fact they’re a contributor in the fight against cancer.  Volunteers do all fund-raising and tournament administrative work Virtually all proceeds are funneled directly to organizations engaged in cancer research.  Contact Walden Golf Club, Dan McIntyre, for sponsor information, 936-448-4668.

Walden on Lake Conroe , located in beautiful Montgomery Texas, is a private golf club, open to residents and non-residents. Since its inception, Walden on Lake Conroe has enjoyed a reputation as one of the premier golf courses in Texas.

Since the National Golfers Against Cancer founding in 1997, GAC has had but one goal: to fund cancer research. Finding a cure to this dread disease is our Charter. We are unique among fund-raising organizations in that virtually all of the money raised goes to cancer research.

GAC supports a variety of cancer research organizations - many offer matching funds to GAC’s contribution. What’s more, most of the seed money GAC contributes has led to proof of concept research resulting in a much higher total of governmental funding from the National Cancer Institute and the National Institute of Health.

Past and present beneficiaries include MD Anderson Cancer Center, the Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research, Prostate Cancer Foundation, The Methodist Hospital Foundation, Baylor College of Medicine, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research and other leading cancer research organizations. To date GAC has raised over $14,000,000 for cancer research.
