Walden on Lake Conroe is a private golf club, open to residents and non-residents. Since its inception, Walden on Lake Conroe has enjoyed a reputation as one of the premier golf courses in Texas. As a representative of our membership committee, please let me take a moment to briefly acquaint you with our Club.
In the newly released 2007 rankings, Walden is honored with a rating of #1 in the Houston Area, and #5 Best Golf Course in the State of Texas by Golf Digest!
Walden is featured on the cover of AvidGolfer Magazine in the July 2007 issue and we have been selected as #1 Golf Course in Houston by AvidGolfer. Walden was also selected "Most Improved" Golf Course, by Avid Golfer, primarily due to a number of significant improvements that have been completed, including new Tif Eagle Greens, new teaching facility with 2 covered bays and indoor conference area. Also, the practice facility has been completely renovated, tee boxes have been rebuilt tee boxes, as well as bunkers. The conditions of the course have been greatly enhanced with the addition of the latest in new golf course equipment. More than 575 trees and bushes have been added to the course in the last two years.
Walden was host to several prestigious events during the last few years, including the 2006 TGA South Amateur Championship and we will be hosting the 2007 Southern Texas PGA Professional Championship. We will be the site of the 2009 TGA State Mid-Am Match Play Championship.
The par 5 11th hole is ranked as one of the top 500 world’s greatest golf holes by Golf Magazine.
